The Ultimate Green Smoothie Bowl

I am asked all the time about my green smoothie bowl recipe. How do I make a green smoothie without tasting the greens? How do I get that rich green colour? What proportion of liquid, to greens, to fruit should I add to my blender? Well today, your questions are answered!

I bought my bag of organic mixed green specifically made for smoothies and/or juices from the vendor Kind Organics at Wychwood Barns Farmers' Market. However, no need to worry, you can use any type of greens you have in your fridge: kale, spinach, arugula, romaine, or even watercress! By adding mango, the taste of the greens becomes undetectable, and instead, you get a sweet, tangy flavour. The frozen bananas give the smoothie bowl a super creamy and thick consistency, and finally, the liquid of your choice allows the smoothie to blend together with ease.

Ingredients (serves 2-3)

2 cups of tightly packed greens

1 1/4 cup chopped frozen ripe banana

1 1/4 cup chopped frozen mango

1/2 cup tigernut milk (sub liquid of your choice)

1. Remove frozen banana and frozen mango from the freezer and allow to thaw for five minutes.

2. Add all ingredients into a high-speed blender.

3. Blend until reaching a smooth consistency.

4. Pour into a bowl, grab a spoon, add toppings, and eat!
